Veteran TV writer Laurence Andries, also known as Larry in the industry, faces six felony charges of drugging and raping a military veteran he met through a writers program. Andries was arrested by Los Angeles police in August and is currently out on a $150,000 bond. He pleaded not guilty and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 17. The accuser, identified as John Doe, alleges that Andries befriended him and took on a mentor role before allegedly drugging and assaulting him in June 2022. John Doe reported the incident to LAPD at the time and hopes others will come forward. Andries’ career spans three decades, and he has been involved in various industry roles, including as vice president of programming for the Writers Guild Foundation.
