Luke Grimes, one of the stars of the hit TV series Yellowstone, recently opened up about his experience working on the show for the past seven years and what it’s been like collaborating with legendary actor Kevin Costner. In an interview, Grimes described his journey on the show as “kind of a dream,” expressing gratitude for being part of a project that has become a massive cultural phenomenon.
Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, the youngest son of Costner’s character John Dutton, said that working alongside Costner has been an incredible learning experience. “Kevin brings so much to the table, not just as an actor but also as a storyteller,” Grimes shared. “He’s someone I’ve admired for years, and to work with him this closely has been surreal at times.”
As Yellowstone has grown in popularity, becoming one of the most-watched shows on television, Grimes reflected on how the series has shaped his career. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of something this big,” he said. “When we started, none of us knew what it would become, and now it’s something people are really passionate about. It’s been amazing to watch.”
Grimes also highlighted the bond between the cast members, saying that over the years, they’ve become like family. “We’ve spent so much time together that these people have become some of my closest friends,” he explained. “We’ve all grown through the process, both as actors and as people.”
As Yellowstone moves into its next phase, Grimes is excited for what’s to come, both for his character and for the show as a whole. He acknowledged that the ride has been intense but wouldn’t trade it for anything. “It’s been challenging, inspiring, and just a wild experience all around,” Grimes said. “I feel so lucky to be part of it.”
