The much-anticipated Yellowstone spinoff, “6666,” has encountered delays in production since its greenlight in 2021. The series, which was hinted at in Season 4 of Yellowstone when Jimmy Hurdstrom, portrayed by Jefferson White, departed the Montana ranch to work at the 6666 ranch in Texas, is yet to commence filming.
Taylor Sheridan, the creator behind the Yellowstone universe, has shed light on the reasons behind the delay, indicating that the project might face further hurdles before making its way to screens.
Unlike its predecessors, Yellowstone, 1883, and 1923, which primarily utilized fictional settings, “6666” is rooted in a real-world location. The Four Sixes ranch in Texas serves as the backdrop for the series, renowned as a premier breeding ground for top-tier horses and livestock. The ranch is tended to by elite cowboys, many of whom are native to the area and have honed their skills there over generations. This unique setting presents logistical challenges that Sheridan and his team are striving to overcome before production can commence.
