The final season of Yellowstone faces significant challenges stemming directly from the strikes, as creator Taylor Sheridan hadn’t completed the scripts when the WGA strike began. It took months for the strikes to end, during which time plans shifted. Originally, there was supposed to be a Season 5 part 2 with 6 episodes, but this plan was scrapped in favor of a legitimate sixth and final season. However, the number of episodes remains unclear. In recent red carpet interviews with Entertainment Tonight, there’s discrepancy among cast members. Josh Lucas, who portrays the younger John Dutton, mentioned they would be shooting ten episodes, whereas co-star Ian Bohen suggested six, plus a series finale. Regardless of the count, Bohen promises that the final episodes will culminate in what he believes will be “the best series finale in history.”
